Bryce Dallas Howard is joining up with Emma Stone and Viola Davis in the film adaptation of Kathryn Stockett’s novel The Help. The actress, best known for her roles in M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village and Lady in the Water, is currently in negotiations to play Hilly Holbrook, the ringleader of a group of 1960s upper-class women in Mississippi who treat their black maids poorly and wind up becoming the subjects of a scathing book depicting their deplorable behavior.

Howard’s character will face off against Stone, who plays the protagonist Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan, an aspiring writer who decides to interview the maids to learn what it’s really like being in the employ of these women. Viola Davis will play Aibileen, the domestic worker that gives her story to Skeeter, while encouraging the other maids to do so, too.

The film, written and directed by Stockett’s childhood friend Tate Taylor, will begin filming this July in Mississippi. Howard can next be seen in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, in which she’ll play the villainous and bloodthirsty vampire Victoria.

Chris Columbus and his 1942 Pictures are producing The Help with Dreamworks Studios.

Both Jones and Howard were new to “The Twilight Saga,” but they said they were immediately embraced by their fellow castmembers. Howard remembered when she was getting on the plane to fly to Vancouver and hid in the corner because she was so nervous about meeting the rest of the cast. Fortunately for Howard, that quickly changed.

“I haven’t had an experience on a film where you actually get to know a group of people as well as I did on this film,” she said. “I just have so much respect for everyone who’s involved with them. They’ve stayed really grounded, and their friendships have stayed really true.”

Since Victoria had already appeared in “Twilight” and “New Moon,” Howard said she focused heavily on keeping the movements and looks of her character consistent with how Rachelle Lefevre played her in the previous films. Interestingly enough, Lefevre’s name was not mentioned during Howard’s discussion.

The new film features Atonement star James McAvoy and comedy favourite, Seth Rogen. The film was previously titled I’m With Cancer and tells the story of a young man who is diagnosed with the disease.

Summit Entertainment, responsible for the Twilight Saga has bought the North American rights to the movie which, according to Gossip Cop, will begin shooting next month.

Anna Kendrick has proved she is a great talent having recently starred in the film Up In The Air oppsite the gorgeous George Clooney. We can expect great things from this young actress.

When Bryce Dallas Howard replaced Rachel Lefevre as Victoria in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, it was her third franchise after Spider-Man and Terminator. However, whether Howard will appear in another Spider-Man or if another Terminator will ever get made is unknown. Howard told ComingSoon that returning for another Spider-Man is possible, even if she hasn’t been contacted yet.

“I mean, it was really made clear to me when we all did Spider-Man 3 that it was entirely possible that a character could come back or a character could not and this could be just a specific plot line to that film because there’s so many stories in the comic book series and you want to pack as much in as possible so it’s truly up to [director] Sam [Raimi], up to, you know, the writers and the people who have done such an amazing job protecting that franchise and choosing the best story lines for audiences and I’m a fan first.”

Terminator Salvation director McG plans to make more Terminator movies, which is great news for Howard who would love to make another. It’s just a matter of whether a sequel gets made.

I haven’t signed anything that would obligate them to me or me to them or anything like that because it was … that film was made with a lot of humility, you know, it’s like we’ll do this one the best that we can and if people ask for more then they ask for me. But, it’s an incredible group. We are all fiercely committed to the story, I mean, it’s Terminator for goodness sakes. So, yeah, if that comes about I would, you know … and if I should be so lucky that they invite me back, I would be loathed to walk away from that.

Howard’s next movie is the upcoming period piece The Loss of A Teardrop Diamond, which opens in limited release later this month. Howard makes her Twilight debut next summer, in what will likely be just the beginning for Howard’s run in the Twilight franchise.

I don’t want to give anything away, but there’s – Victoria has a lifespan is what I’ll say.

Bryce Dallas Howard has signed to star opposite Matt Damon in Clint Eastwood’s supernatural drama “Hereafter” for Warner Bros.

“Hereafter,” penned by Peter Morgan, tells the story of three people — a blue-collar American, a French journalist and a London school boy — who are touched by death in different ways. “Hereafter” is produced by Eastwood, Kathleen Kennedy and Robert Lorenz. Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, Peter Morgan and Tim Moore are the exec producers.

Filming’s taking place in Paris, London, Hawaii and San Francisco. Pic’s slated for release in December 2010.

Howard will next be seen in indie drama “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,” opening in January, and in Summit’s “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” in June.

She’s currently producing the Untitled Gus Van Sant Project.

We have yet to hear much about Bryce’s performance for Twilight’s Saga: Eclipse after she took the role of Rachelle Lefevre. Kristen Stewart recently told MTV the following about Bryce:

With “New Moon” already a box office smash in its first few weeks, Kristen also turned her gaze towards next year’s “Eclipse,” dishing about working with Bryce Dallas Howard, who took over the role of Victoria from Rachelle Lefevre. “It was really good [working with her],” Kristen said. “Bryce is scary. She is really oddly sweet as well, so it’s weird to see her switch back and forth. Victoria, for Bella, is an ever-present fear — even when Victoria isn’t around, she is scared that she is coming back. Bryce is such a good actress, and it was easy to be scared of her.”
