Bryce Dallas Howard and her actor husband Seth Gabel welcomed their first daughter last week.
Bryce’s filmmaker father, Ron Howard, announced the news Sunday on Twitter, writing, “Beatrice Jean Howard-Gabel Born Jan 19 2012 8lbs 6oz Bryce & Baby B are spectacular Daddy Seth & brother Theo are beaming ear to ear.” He later added, “Beatrice’s arrival is hugely exciting for our family Thanks for all the kind tweets folks.”
The couple’s son Theo is 4 years old.
Bryce, 30, married Gabel in June 2006 after dating for more than five years. The actress recently starred in “50/50″ and “The Help.”
Twilight star Bryce Dallas Howard was simply radiant at the premiere of When You Find Me in New York City on Tuesday (November 15). The expectant actress posed for pics alongside her actor/director father, Ron Howard, and her actor grandfather, Rance Howard.
Ron opened up about the “profound” experience of being a grandfather. “My daughter Bryce has a son who’s almost three,” the Happy Days star said. “And I love being with him. I didn’t remotely understand how profound the experience of being a grandparent is until you become one. It’s interesting, when you become a grandparent you start bumping into other folks who have had that experience. And there’s this sort of wink and a nod like it’s sort of a club or something.”
Bryce, 30, is expecting her second child with husband, Fringe actor Seth Gabel, later this year.

Summit Entertainment will release the drama/comedy 50/50 starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard and Anjelica Huston on Blu-ray and DVD on January 24, 2012.
50/50 was produced for a mere $8 million under the direction of Jonathan Levine, but went on to make over $33.3 million at the domestic box office behind strong critical reviews and positive word-of-mouth. Though the cancer diagnosis and subsequent struggle Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s character endures is a somber subject, the infusion of well-timed comedy struck a balance that moviegoers felt was just right.
She’s beautiful, talented and knows people in high places. Yet Bryce Dallas Howard has been a fringe dweller in Hollywood, until now.
Her performance as the Southern social queen and racist vixen Hilly Holbrook in The Help, based on Kathryn Stockett’s bestseller, should make audiences stand up and take notice, she also plays Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s girlfriend, Rachael, in the comedic drama, 50/50.
“Rachael is wretched! I am totally on a mean streak this year,” Howard declares. She has also tested her talents behind the scenes, by producing Gus Van Sant’s Restless via her father Ron’s Imagine Entertainment, one of the most successful companies in Hollywood.
During our interview for 2005′s Cinderella Man, her dad had explained proudly how Bryce had been keen to pursue her own more adventurous path, appearing in experimental theatre and movies like M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village and his unfathomable Lady in the Water (where she was a water nymph). In Lars von Trier’s Mandalay, the second of the director’s USA trilogy after Dogville, she replaced Nicole Kidman in the leading role.
“When I was younger, things that maybe didn’t resonate with everyone, resonated with me,” the 30-year-old actress now says.
The long Labor Day weekend is providing some help to “The Help.”
The historical drama grossed $3.6 million so far this weekend, on its way to $14 million for the frame. The film, starring Bryce Dallas Howard, Viola Davis and Emma Stone, is closing in on $120 million after three weeks.
Meanwhile, Weinstein Company’s low-budget found footage thriller “Apollo 18″ scared up a decent $2.8 million, and is projected to earn $11 million for the weekend, just below the studio’s expectations.
